:) Do they make you give a urine sample? If I haven't had Water for a long time since they don't want you to have any in the morning...will I be able to go?:tired I have never been one to just go on cue:rolleyes like everyone else. Anyone else have this problem?:omg:

No, I've never had that problem. I have had several surgeries and have not been asked for a sample.

I had to provide a urine sample immediately upon being admitted to the hospital for the required pregnancy test.

I just had my surgery 15 days ago and only thing required was that I used the restroom (number 1) before leaving the hospital. That's about it.

The nurse asked me for one, cause I hadnt had a period in 6 months and she wanted to make sure I wasn't pregnant. I don't go on cue either, but apparantly the few drops were enough to determine I was not with child.lol

No sample needed the day of surgery. All lab work was done on the final pre-op appointment 4 days before surgery.

I had to do a urine sample the night before surgery, being in MX means everything happens QUICK.

The day I arrived was testing and orientation in the hospital, I had surgery at 6am the next morning. I could drink as much Water as I wanted or needed up until... was it 10? It is usually 10pm, isn't it?

Yes, I had to give a sample. It wasn't much but that's all I could give 'em. I know...how can you "go" if you haven't had anything to drink in 12 hours?!!! If they ask, just give 'em whatever you got!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
