The Gastric Sleeve Chat Room Is Always Open!

Recommended Posts

There was another thread where someone said they can never find anyone in the chat room.

We chat in the evenings. It depends on your time zone. I try to check in early for those on the east cost.

Last night we were chatting til past 1 am pacific time and the person I was chatting with was a couple hours ahead of me.

Keep checking! You have to open a separate window and minimize it. Then what I do is read posts or email etc, and I wait for the doorbell that will ring and I will know someone came in.

You can always private message someone too and ask them to meet you in the chat room at a certain time. I have done that before too.

Chatting is a lot of fun and also a great way to get questions answered.

Hey y'all! I've moved this thread to the support section and pinned it. The evenings is usually the time when other folks have time to chat, so check it out!

If you want to chat, you can give this thread a little bump and it will show up on the "new threads" search and more people can see it. :) You get real time answers, HTH!!

Me too - I'd love to find the chat room.

It's not hard to find. Just look above in the purple area all the way to the right. Click where it says chat. A window will open shortly.

If there is anyone who has not chatted in the chat room, you should try it out. There should be people coming in and out all evening.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
