Sleeveme2011,

Check out my story, http://www.verticals...__1#entry141550, you'll find we have A LOT in common.

Right there with ya sister.

Next time you're aunt decides to make an abrasive comment, there's no reason for you to stoop to her level and be mean right back, I simply don't agree with that, but I would highly recommend that you show her this passage in the Bible....

“Do not judge so that you will not be judged” Matthew 7:1

This verse is not a warning against judging an action. It is a warning against self deception and hypocrisy.

Try that and then lets see how abrasive she is.....

Keep the faith!!! You're SOOOOO worth it!!!!!

Christal

People like your Aunt have to criticize others to make themselves feel better. Here's the worst part, when you lose all your weight and you are looking FAN-TASTIC, guess what? She is STILL going to find something to criticize, maybe you're having a bad hair day. Maybe your shirt has a few wrinkles, SOMETHING. You should make up your mind now that whatever she says in the future, is just her feeling bad about herself and reflecting it onto you, and don't take it personally. You will do great! I wish you lucksmile.gif

You are so right. For now it is either my weight, my hair, what color I choose for my hair, if I cook or not...etc. the list goes on. Thank you...I ready for my sleeve.

I'm never fast on my feet but it's too bad you wouldn't have said "you know, I've lost 19 pounds. I'm surprised you didn't notice since you seem to be the on who found it".

Maybe save that for later when you're really dropping like a rock.

LOL! That is so funny.

Thank you so much! Oh wow! I am sorry you went thru what you did growing up. I was never really small every so I have been the fat kid for a long timmmmmme. LOL! But the comments and what not get old. I have a brother that I hadnt seen in ages, saw him the other day and this idiot says "I see you arent pushing away from the table" I ignored him. Heck, my bro-n-law called me lazy today because I wasnt helping my hubby mow the yard.

I like the passage out of the bible. I pray a lot and I try to hold my tongue when dealing with people. I have a short temper and attitude and can say some things that might make your jaw drop. LOL! I am trying to work on that, but God knows it is hard.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
