A strange request for all those who like myoplex!

Recommended Posts

So as i have mentioned before getting a decent range of Protein is hard here. The only one i really like is the myoplex low carb ready to drink chocolate and my local store has stopped stocking it!. What Im wondering is if anyone has found a powder, that when mixed tastes similar to the myoplex shakes?

Know its a weird request! Any input appreciated.

you could order some samples. If you scroll down to the food section, there is a place to order different kinds of samples. Then you won't get stuck with somthing you don't like and you might find one you really like.

I really like Myofusion peanutbutter/chocolate. Let me know if you want to know where to get that.

I also really like BSN lean dessert in the fudge pudding flavor.

You can get BSN from vitacost.com

Have you tried Super whey Protein SHOT by Body Fortress? I get them at Walmart and they have 26g of protein, 1g carbs @ 110 cals and they ARE cheap...

I know Myoplex sells both jars and packets of Protein Powder, I would presume that it's the same kind that they use to prepare their RTD shakes. Maybe stop by your area GNC or get a few samples online?

costco and Sams Club also sell the Myoplex Carb Advantage RTD. If not you can always order online. :) Don't let your store not selling it keep you from having the only Protein drink you enjoy! Myoplex is very common too, even Walmart has it.

I hope you can find it somewhere else!

Girls, i wish i had a costco or decent GNC but im in UAE and everything here is veeerrryyyy limited. Ordering online is difficult too as shipments take ages to get here, crazy delivery charges and strict customs, even my B12 sublingual tabs were stopped and i still have not got them! There is a nutrition shop, 2 hours away that has a decent selection so am going there at the weekend, fingers crossed they have the stuff i like!

Oh wow, well I can see your point! Well here are a few suggestions I have in case they don't have the Myoplex when you go. I do like the Atkins shakes, the vanilla is very good and wonderful to mix flavors with. Try picking up some SF syrups if you can, Torani is a good brand. Raspberry is my favorite.

Even the Slim Fast Hi Protein is pretty good. Other than that I don't really venture out too much. I know what I like and I've been doing the Protein Shakes for years now. These are pretty much what I stick with, besides the Myoplex Carb Advantage. I do use unjury too but I've only ever seen them Online, which you already mentioned is hard for you.

Good luck!!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
