kemo46 82 Posted April 23, 2011 Have any of you taken up bike riding since you have lost your weight? I loved to ride bikes before my weight gain and it has been years since i have been on a bike. Have any of you had any problems riding a bike as exercise since your surgery? (after being released by your doctor of course). This is one of my goals after the surgery. I have begun to make a list of things I look forward to after the surgery that I have not been able to do for years. Thanks.
Hawaii50 4 Posted April 23, 2011 I can't wait to ride my bike again! My husband and I have beach cruisers (mine with a cushy seat) and we made a summer bucket list of rides we wanna do! First up, ride across all 8 bridges in Portland!! Now we just need that elusive warm glowing ball to reappear in the sky! (seems I am answering all your posts today kemo, must be in the same frame of mind!) ;o)
afdonn 1 Posted April 24, 2011 I just started back bike riding a couple weeks ago, now that I have lost 50 pounds I was finally ready to get back on my bike. I used to ride a lot but had gained too much weight to ride. I have a road bike, but I'm going to buy a mountain bike too, my gift to me for losing the first 50 pounds! It felt really good to be on my bike again!
Mariah 0 Posted April 24, 2011 I am about 7 weeks post op and just bought a new bike! I haven't ridden a bike in many, many years. Anyway, I rode my bike about 2 miles today and felt awesome! So I think as long as you remember how to ride a bike and you can pedal on a lower gear, you'll probably be just fine
