What is your coffee shop order?

Recommended Posts

I did my first coffee today (beginning 5 weeks), I got a skinny cinnamon dolce at SB.....yum. It got me to wondering what other folks order. Do you make it a treat and do full fat, full sugar or do you try to make it leaner........also, is there any way to make mine any better?

If I go to starbucks after surgery I will probably get the same thing I always do, a Decaf skinny caramel machiato. I am not a big coffee drinker so I don't go there very often.

I have always hated drinking my calories so I always try to minimize when getting stuff like this. I would rather save my calories for something I want to eat.

Try the new hot or cold Skinny Mocha! I had coffee beginning on day 3 out of surgery. Not a problem at all!

Large coffee with 3 creams at Tim Horton's or a large coffee with a hefty dose of half-and-half at Starbucks - both sweetened with 2 packets of Splenda.

I double checked on caffeine with my NUT today and he said it was fine, within reason. He said if I choose to drink it to boost my Water intake to counter the diuretic effects, so no biggie.

I order a venti caramel light frap, caramel drizzle on top, with a dome lid :) from Starbucks...I tried switching over to McD's caramel ice coffee, but they are not consistent and sometimes its so blah, so I'm back to Starbucks :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
