Sex and sleeping on your tummy or side

Recommended Posts

I am one week out. The night of my surgery was spent in the hospital and I slept on my back. Night 2 I was home and was able to sleep on my right side. The left was too sore. I slept on my right side for the next few days. Now after 1 week, I can sleep on either with no problems and no pain meds.

I think the answer to both questions is: whenever it feels right to you. I still have a hard time laying on my side and I am 6 weeks out. Need lots of pillow support. I haven't even tried to lay on my stomach.

As for the sex, I was back in the saddle day 7, but I was just laying there, you know what I mean? I was taking the "no lifting, no exercise" thing very seriously. I wasn't an "active" participant for a couple more weeks, but luckily my partner was willing to do all the work :-)

Enjoy!

Thank you so much everyone!! I took a lot of your advice and started REALLY slowly last night and kept a big king sized pillow pressed up against my tummy the entire night. I rolled over to my left side just slightly with the pillow against me and it was HEAVEN!! I actually got 5-6 straight hours of sleep which is ALOT. I don't typically get more than that because I have a son who has night terrors in the middle of the night and 9 month old whose sleeping pattern is completely off since I left for surgery. Needless to say I feel soooo much better and refreshed today and I can't thank you enough!!!

I think I'll be waiting until day 10 or so to get it on, but my hubby is sooo understanding and supportive that he would never complain.

Thanks again...you guys are all so wonderful!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
