Insurance approved!!

Recommended Posts

Just got my surgery date last week for 5/2/11. They short-scheduled it for me because I have a week then with no work obligations. The surgeon's office just submitted the paperwork to my insurance company last Friday, but I got the call today (4/20) that I have been approved. It seems very much more real now, as there are no obstacles left. I have been in the program since last September, and it seemed to take forever, but now it is full speed ahead. Woo hoo!

My process was going very slow until the end and then everything was speeding by. I had seven days notice for the actual surgery.

Congrats on your approval ... I am very excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!

NICE!!! Mine was paid for 100% too, Anthem Blue Cross/CA. Just received my bill or co-pay from Good Samaritan San Jose. Out of pocket was $168, and they charged $17,000! Thank God for insurance. Best of luck with your journey.

My dr is having to appeal my medicaid ins plan for my surgical revision sleeve procedure. It has been one frustration after another, but I have some medical issues that need this intervention, so am hoping to get an auth soon to have surgery scheduled. Like you, I have been dring since Sept of last yr. Had a RNY 10 yrs ago, but that needs this revision. Good luck! Will be looking forward to your progress report.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
