caleybooth 1 Posted April 20, 2011 I am 9 days out. Whenever I bend over I get a stabbing pain in my stomach on the right side. Is it my staple line healing? It's a sharp pain for about 30 seconds then a dull ache for about 30 minutes afterwards. Is this normal? Should I worry?
kids05 4 Posted April 20, 2011 Honestly, I am a nurse. If it's new, call the doctor. You can never go wrong, running it by your doc. You don't want to let anything...any change...go post-op. CALL! Good Luck!
caleybooth 1 Posted April 20, 2011 It's not *brand new*, it's happened several times since surgery, but I will call the dr today.
bugirl928 1 Posted April 20, 2011 i had the same pain, but on my left side. i thought i was going to die. the doc told me it was just normal post op pain and that many people feel like they are up to moving around, about a week or so out, when really we should be resting. i had just over done it, but after a few days of complete rest, i was feeling much better! it wouldn't hurt to ask your doc though! good luck! [/quote I am two weeks post surgery and I also have that pain on my left side. It was a burning feeling on my left side that becomes a stabbing pain when I bend over. I also think it is from doing too much too soon and that resting is very important. I have been to my family do who has run some blood tests. His office called yesterday saying that he needs to see me. At first I thought maybe it was an infection, but with rest it seems to be improving.
