We all want the miracle cure

Recommended Posts

You know for so many years I was always in search of that miracle weight loss cure--you know the magic pill, to just melt the fat off of me. And of course I wanted to be able to eat anything I loved and as much as I want and have the fat just melt off of me-I sure wasn't thinking straight  .

I wonder how many of you have had those same thoughts, I bet a whole lot of you  .

Well, in Oct 2008 I found part of what I was looking for. An excellent Doctor names Dr. Aceves from Mexicali Mexico--I know what you are thinking Mexico. He is a very skilled surgeon, who was honest and treated me with such great respect. He said he could help me with WLS by giving me a sleeve, BUT this was NOT any miracle cure--Tee Hee, I told you he was honest. He said it would take a lot of work and effort on my part to make this happen for me and for me to become successful I had to have my head in the right place. I had to eat healthy and exercise would also help me lose faster--he was so right.

It is awful that it took me to be 63 years old to finally get my head in the right place. I want some of you younger people to PLEASE learn from my experience and if you are sitting out there on the fence trying to make up your mind about weight loss surgery, this is the time to do it NOW!

I was very successful and have lost 105 pounds and have been sleeved for 2 1/2 years now and kept it off. I never feel deprived when it comes to eating, I am NOT on a diet. I have a lifestyle change and WOW if feels good.

If you are struggling with your feeling and emotions, and weight I am telling you that Dr. Aceves and his staff are the people to help you through this. I wouldn't think twice about picking up the phone and just talk with he staff. It doesn't cost you any to get the information from them about WLS--I suggest the sleeve and NOT a lapband. Nina his patient coordinator is great to work with--give her a call.

I am also here to answer any question you don't want to ask--there are NO wrong questions only the ones you don't ask. It is time for you to put yourself first for the first time in many years and become healthy. You will benefit so much by this. I feel like have have added 20 years on to my life. I feel physically and mentally healthy.

How about you, isn't it about time you felt this way too????

I want you to have the best you can in life and the time is now.

Hugs, to you.

Suzanne

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
