myrori 55 Posted April 19, 2011 I keep forgetting that I can do that. For 20 years I always headed to the woman's section or Lane Bryant or Fashion Bug places. I keep forgetting I can go most any where now! As I had stated before I bought a bike and I am pretty darn serious about it so while at the bike shop I was able to buy a pair of biking pants right off the rack,, just blew my mind! Then tonight I went out to get a new pair of tennis shoes and I have lost a shoe size and gone from a wide with to a B width! Blows my mind! I went to Dick's sporting goods, in the past I was intimidated to even walk into a sporting goods place. I got the Reebock easy toner shoes, and I said what the heck and bought a pair of easytone pants too! What I still cant wrap my head around is being able to walk to a rack in a sporting goods store and buy a pair of anything having fit, not to mention using the clothes to actually work out in! M2G 1,836 Posted April 19, 2011 There is just SHEER joy with being able to walk into ANYWHERE and find something that fits that isn't a PLUS or an XXL, or a 3X...truly amazing! I LOVE IT!
Luanne 32 Posted April 19, 2011 It's wonderful to finally fit! = Shopping has been my new addiction!
SpiceyMom 0 Posted April 21, 2011 I was just thinking about shopping today...I have been shopping in the same basic stores for years because they had the concealing options. I don't even know where I'll want to shop! The options seem overwhelming from here in 2X land...
klus263 9 Posted April 21, 2011 Shopping is such a new experience. I was able to buy a few new summer tops at the golf store (they must think fat people do not play golf). It now takes me longer to check out the clothes as there is so much more to look at instead of the small section of plus sizes. I am loving it. Keep up the great work! KathyM 14 Posted April 25, 2011 I'm not gonna lie, shopping kind of freaks me out now. Forever I have wished that I could just go into a store and buy all those cute things off the rack. Now I am so overwhelmed that I can hardly stay in the store and look at everything. I just bought some new addidas shorts and a cute top from Gordman's. I stuffed it in my cart thinking I know this won't fit me right now but maybe later it will......got home and tried it on and it fit! Just can't wrap my mind around sizes without an X in front of them!
JamieLynn77 1 Posted April 25, 2011 congrats! i just moved to the regular sizes myself and it is a wonderful feeling. Its a little intimidating at times, but oh how much $$ i save lol. Its so hard to believe. and the confidence that comes with it is amazing!
lovelylori61 1 Posted April 25, 2011 I hear you all! I went in to Target the other day and my friend talked me in to trying on a pair of "skinny jeans", yes you heard it right, "skinny jeans". I reached for a size 16 and she said, "I bet you could wear a 14". With me having to shop in the plus size dept. for so many years, I though, "yeah right"! I went ahead and tried them on, and guess what? They fit!!!!! I went with the 16, because the 14 were still a little snug. It felt so awesome to be able to shop in the normal womans' size dept. I was so confident at that point, that I tried on a size large t-shirt and low and behold it also fit! I ended up completing the outfit with a new pair of flats that were a half size smaller than before. I didn't want to leave the place! When I got home I tried it all on for the hubby and he thought I looked so sexy! Mission accomplished! It was a great day at Target, can't hardly wait to go back! ginajeans 4 Posted April 27, 2011 I can't wait for that day. Instead of shopping for accessories with my thin friends I would actually try on clothes with them. I can't wait!!!
