Breezy1 0 Posted April 17, 2011 I am 3 1/2 months post op. I have had this nagging frequent cough since I started smooshy foods. I am on Nexium daily so I don't think it is due to reflux. I talked to my surgeon about it and he doesn't seem too concerned that it was surgery related. I went to an ENT, because I feel the cough from my throat not lungs. He looked at my vocal cords thinking that would be the reason. Nope. Vocal cords are fine. I do not have asthma or any other reason to be coughing. Anyone else have this issue?? Jebellah 0 Posted April 17, 2011 YES! Ive had a nagging cough since surgeruy myself. My Doctor said its very common for patients to pick up a respiratory infection during intubation and that it will pass in a few weeks or months. He didn't prescribe anything or tell me to anything special. Just wait it out... Bellah
kellyw74 258 Posted April 17, 2011 if it is not what above poster stated, it could be allergies. it is allergy season. i have not had surgery yet, but at the begining of each allergy season, i always feel as if there is something in my throat and it makes me cough. kelly
