When did yo go to soft foods?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I really need your help. I am one week post-op. I have felt really great and have had no problems. Never any nausea, PBing, sliming or discomfort. I am eating approximately 1000 calories per day and about 100 grms of Protein per day. My Dr. has had me on pureed foods since day 2.

I can't say that I don't have restriction. While I don't have any pain or discomfort after meals I feel satisfied. Strangely, I don't crave the same foods that put me in this position (pizza, burgers, mass quanties of other food) but I really feel the need for small bandster size portions of chili, baked fish, stewed chicken, soft veggies (cooked to death), etc.

I am not scheduled to see my Dr until 7-11-06 to get an update on my current meal plan. Am I really pushing things to want move to the next step? Should I call and ask him about this or do I simply need to "suck it up and continue untill I see him again.

I went on soft foods the 3rd week - now. The first week was Clear liquids followed by a 1 week of thicker liquids. Every doctor is different as to what they want you to do. The best advice is to follow your doctor's orders so that you are in sync with his/her plan. I have been hungry from the beginning. I seem to get satisfied when I eat my meal, but no signs of fullness. I don't expect that until my first fill. I do seem to get that left shoulder pain after I eat.

Hope this helps.

Well, you should always follow your doctors orders, but nothing says you can't call him and ask if you can have something a little more substantial(sp). Worst case, he says no, and THEN you have to suck it up and wait. But calling wont hurt!
