Fills in Philadelphia?

Recommended Posts

Bumping this, I too am looking for Phills in Philly.

Haha, little City of Brotherly Love humor there.

Hey Fox,

I get my PHills near PHilly. Abington Hospital has a WL center that fills every Tuesday.

There is also a FillCenter USA in Mt. Laurel - just over the bridge. I was planning on going there for my fills, but I work in Phila, so I think I'll check out Abington too.

Thanks for the info.

Does the Doctor at Abington use Fluro to fill?

I'm a bit leery of FillCenters USA in general, and I heard a horror story on LBT about that FillCenter location not really doing a fill on a girl. A "phantom fill", if you will.

Hi Fox,

Although I'm sure they are capable of the Fluro fills I never had it done. It took 6 fills to get me right. 10cc's in a 10cc band.

Are you getting banded in Mexico? I was able to have it done cheaper at Abington then going to Mexico. Plus sure was nicer being in my bed with the remote in my hand vs. riding home in a jet next day. Be sure you check out both ways.

I'm planning on having it done in MX, yes. How much was the surgery at Abington, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Everyone,

I need a Philly "Phill" but I was banded in Mexico. Do you all know of Doctors that will fill me??? Please advise via private message, since I'm not able to read the forum regularly.

THANKS!!!!!

I'm in Delaware and my doctor is in Newark - Dr. Irgau. He has 2 or 3 other doctors with him that do the same thing. I haven't gotten my first fill yet, but if you can travel to Newark (its only about 45 minutes away from Philly and his office is off of I-95) I would definitely go see him. He and his partners are amazing.

I just wanted to update this thread because I had my first fill today at the above location and it was a great experience. I opted for Flouro for my first fill. Before we even started the fill, I met with the doctor for a good 20-25 minutes while he reviewed the best way to make the fills work, the important rules of banding, etc... Now I was very familiar with everything because of my pre-band research, but it was still great to hear again face to face. Then we went into the xray room and confirmed that the band was where it should be and everything looked normal.

He found the port with no problems and I started drinking Water. We found a spot that worked, I drank the tasty white stuff and then I was on my way.

This board can be great, but I'm glad that I didn't let The Fox's post above deter me from a very convenient (for me), very positive fill experience.

Good luck to all Philly fillsters!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
