Hello folks. I'm 3 days out of my procedure and have a question. The surgical glue on one of my incisions has come off. I have a small hole, about an inch long and a half inch deep. It's not bleeding but does seep at night. The RN that checked me out of the hospital said that I should leave them uncovered to heal. With no sign of infection should I be concerned?

I'm no medical pro but this doesn't sound good. If only for the fact that it will heal and scar much worse than if it were closed. I would definitely call the surgeon.

Yeah definitely. You can go to the doctor's office and they have dermabond there so they can close it. After it is on, I can see letting it be "Open To Air" to heal.

I'd put a couple butterflies on it to keep it closed until you can see your Dr.

My drain incision was left open to heal on its own. I kept it covered for the first while with sterile gauze to collect the weeping drainage. Other than that it healed shut all on its own. Call your doc for what they want done. In the meantime you can get steri strips to butterfly it closed.

They doc told me once the ozzing stops to leave it off and let it heal..as well..

But it cant hurt to give the Doc a call..
