sallyjo 0 Posted June 27, 2006 This is entirely up to you. I can tell you I would do it again in a heartbeat and have had no problems and great sucess and only two months out but it is still your decision. I am sixty two and would'nt take for my band. I researched for four months then found the surgeon that I felt comfortable with and got er done. I was not to pick up anything heavy for three months so it's all up to your doctors directions. Please feel free to pm me if I can help you any futher.
NJChick 3 Posted June 27, 2006 Hi Lep, No one can make this decision for you, its something that must come from deep inside you. If you do have surgery your doc will prob not want you to lift anything for a few weeks. There is a link that will help you with questions: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=12541 Its a HUGE decision, so good luck to you

triciaself 0 Posted June 27, 2006 Well, I am scheduled to have surgery on July 12. I probably can't answer very many questions about the surgery, but I have done a lot of research on it and made up my mind after lots of research that this is the right thing for me to do. Yes...I'm very nervous, but I'm so tired of living life the way I do overweight. I am 30 years old and everytime I go somewhere, all I think about is how bad I look and look at other women who aren't overweight and wish I looked like them. I am doing this mostly for my self-esteem and not health at this point in my life. I have no health problems...just back and foot pain. But, I also know that if I don't do something now, it will get worse and I will begin to see health problems soon. All I can tell you, is research all you can and as far as picking up your grandbaby...I have a little boy that turned 2 in April. He is 24 lbs and I won't be able to pick him up for 4 weeks, but he can crawl in my lap and I can hold him. This is a decision only you can make. Good luck and keep us posted. juliegeraci 7 Posted June 29, 2006 I understand your concerns. The surgery itself was a breeze for me. Probably just a few days to pick up the Grandbaby, most likely on the lap. You will do fine. Its an exciting time so I hope it goes well for you.
