tntransplant06 20 Posted April 14, 2011 I just want some of you that have been doing this a few months or longer to tell me if my weekly losses look right. I'm at almost 3 mos and have lost 46lbs. I feel like this last month has been FOREVER bc not much has come off. START 1/20: 349lbs 2/20: -27.2 (one month) 2/25: -3.4 3/4: -2.6 3/12: -4.6 3/18: -.6 3/25: -.6 4/1: -3.5 4/8: -2 (304.4lbs) This week looks as though it'll be -1. Those 2 weeks in March with the -.6 have me all crabby. I know, it's a loss, be thankful, and I am. I guess it's my goal of -50lbs by my bday next week (which looks like I won't meet) that has me sad. Nevermind the fact that my husband, who did this at the same time, is approaching -70lbs. I know, don't compare. I'm just resorting to my old habit thinking of, you'll never do this. I keep saying to myself "12 weeks and you've lost 44.6 lbs---3.7 lbs a week" then my mathmatic brain says, "yes, but over 1/2 of that was in the first month and the other 2 months have stunk". Instead of being really happy that I've lost this weight, I'm depressed and worried I'll always be fat. I'm wondering if I should see my doc about depression. I really do think I need to see a counselor to go over some issues, but my insurance doesn't cover it and I really can't afford it. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. iegal 460 Posted April 14, 2011 Congrats on being 3 months out and you have lost quite a bit - 46 lbs. Now - you need a reality check. If using you stats from last three months that means In six months, you will have lost approx 100 lbs or 1/3 of your weight you want to loose, right? What diet have you been on that you have lost close to 100 lbs in 6 months and KEPT IT OFF FOREVER? You will not always be fat nor will you lose weight at the same rate as your husband. Celebrate his success and Celebrate your too...even if lower #'s. scale is going down. At 349, you have a lot of weight to lose, so give yourself the grace and time to do this right. Be merciful to your body and understand it is going through radical changes. You can do this. Start excercising (walking/light weights) more to lose more wieght. Track your food intake. Then shake things up a little. I have faith in your ability to stick to the plan. Hugs to you.

klus263 9 Posted April 14, 2011 Based on what my nutritionist told me at my last meeting, we should be losing an average of 1-3 lbs a week. So just by that your are normal. You are averaging over 3 pounds a week right now.. Granted not everyone loses the same and there are so many other factors to look at. Are you still on medications-some can slow weight loss. How many calories and/or carbs are you eating? what are you eating? are you getting enough fluids and Protein in daily? Are you excerising and if so how much?I am only 4 months out but I seem to stall every 4 weeks or so. I am not as far as some but farther then others. Overall, I see where I was to where I am now and I am happy. Yes, I do want to lose more, Will I, oh heck yes but it may take time. It took me 20 years to get where I was and if takes me a year to lose-so be it. I am losing and I have not put weight back on. And yes, my husband was just sleeved a month ago and I think he will get to his goal before I reach mine but I can live with that. We are both getting healthier and sharing the journey together. Hang in there!
