Ok, PCOScysters....A few questions

Recommended Posts

Ok, in two days Ill be four months post op and get this.....Since my surgery I have had my cycle 4 times...I mean like clock work!!!! I *might* if I was lucky, have one a year if that before hand, now every flipping month!!! I went through all sorts of things to get my twins and now here I am cycling like a normal person.

Question , does/will this continue or am I just being fooled???

I just cant see me getting on BC because you tend to gain weight and thats NOT what I want to happen....Im just really at a loss right now as to what to do. Im just so used to not worrying about anything and now....well, ya know....time to start paying attention....

And BTW....Im down 80#s totaly, 60 since Dec 14th, 2010!!! In size 14 pants!!!!! Woooo Hoooo....Go me, Go me, Go me :):D

Mine came like clock work the first month and have not had one since ( 3 months now), but that is fine by me. I am not using the baby making parts anymore and that means no pms or acne attacks!

I have PCOS, but I am not sure how it will affect me yet. I am only 4 weeks out. I do know that I feel a little PMSy right now. ALso, I could go a year with no period or usually once or twice a year, but low and behold the morning of my surgery I started! I was in SHOCK!! Now 4 weeks later, I am wondering if I am actually going to start again! So weird!

I am 4 weeks out today. I've lost 40lbs. In my two week preop I had two periods. In the 4 weeks post op I've had three! (In the past year, prior to preop diet I had one bleeding cycle.)

I think that until we get to a maintenance stage its going to be hard to predict our cycles.

I would not consider BC - with PCOS our hormones are already out of balance. Brute forcing your cycles with more hormones just seems like a bad idea not to mention all the risks associated with them but its a very personal decision. What is right for me might not be right for someone else.

It seems like you've already chosen the best treatment possible for PCOS. Give it time and let it work.

Make sure you educate yourself diet-wise. Again VSG is the best possible treatment for PCOS but I think as cysters we need to be even more aware of the role diet and insulin resistance plays in our health.

I am 1 day postop and have PCOS. My problem isn't not having my cycle enough (or maybe it is) but I will have my period for months and months at a time, stop for 2 weeks and start back up again. I would be elated if I could get regulated and eventually get pregnant!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
