cherrybell 0 Posted April 12, 2011 Today is day 1 on my liquid diet, only 13 more to go . I know I can do this it just feels so overwhelming! I am getting freaked over the "after" surgery because I have opted not to tell anyone other than my husband, and he can't be there for the procedure or the first night or two when I get to my hotel (I'm doing this in Dallas, about 6 hrs away from home). I think what scares me about that is who will make me get up and walk and NOT take my pain meds before the 6 hours are up. I don't want to tell my family because my parents are both elderly and not in great health and my dad had an 8 month stint in the hospital fighting MRSA...it was awful!!! I also don't want to be perceived as being weak for having this surgery, and yes that would be their perception. I'm all good, I think I am just having normal doubts and questions. I keep thinking this time next month I will be starting on pureed foods and this will be a distant memory.
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted April 12, 2011 Hi there cherrybell, You will and are doing just fine. The first few days on the liquid pre op diet are the toughest, simply because you are kicking the bad sugar habit. Any pre op diet is also especially difficult because you still have a large stomach and can feel hunger pangs. Pray if you have to! This is NOT easy, but one thing is IS, is worth it all. Come here to vent, we are here to help you pull through this. HUGS!!!
cherrybell 0 Posted April 12, 2011 Thank you! I do and will pray every day! I actually think I will do okay on the pre op diet, not gonna' love it but I keeping thinking that this will help lesson any complications and that at least I'm not gonna' be in true physical pain this next two weeks just hungry...that I CAN survive. Thanks again LilMissDiva! Hi there cherrybell, You will and are doing just fine. The first few days on the liquid pre op diet are the toughest, simply because you are kicking the bad sugar habit.
