Hi Neenagh,

I am from Ottawa and just underwent my lapband procedure in Toronto on July 20th. I went to the Toronto Laproscopic Band Centre (TLBC.ca) since there are no doctors here in Ottawa who do the procedure. I am doing alright so far and with the help of my neice who is a lapbander herself, I am going to be fine. She has lost 100lbs since March 2005 and has 70 to go. Too bad she lives in Windsor though. Right now I am trying to find a doctor who will do fills here in Ottawa. My family doctor will not do it. The outpatient co-ordinator at TLBC is going to introduce me to 2 other patients from Ottawa so that we can hopefully form a support group. I have to give lots of appreciation to the TLBC Neenagh and I hope that you have lots of success.

I'm a patient of Dr. Cobourn in Mississauga (even though I'm from BC) When I was in his office getting my first fill he had a Dr. from Ottawa come in to watch because he is training him to do fills. The Dr.'s wife and son are lapband patients of Dr. Cobourn. He will be doing fills in Ottawa as part of his own practice. Unfortunately I don't remember his name, but I'm sure if you call Dr. Cobourns surgical center (905-275-9283) and enquire they can refer you.
