Lmom1980 29 Posted April 11, 2011 Yesterday was my one month "surgiversary" I am down 16 pounds since surgery and 27 pounds since pre-op diet. I was hoping for a little more weight loss in the first month, but I feel good. I get full on small amounts of food, and don't have the junk food cravings that I did before. I never had any pain or nausea to speak of. My incisions are tiny, and I don't notice them at all. I don't have any heart-burn. I attribute this to Dr. Watkins fixing my hiatal hernia. I am a happy girl, and I am hopeful that I can reach my goal of dropping 100 pounds in one year. I think I lost about the same amount of weght when I was on weight watchers, but the difference is that I am going to actually keep it off this time! 1 senickisncis reacted to this

sunnyd 32 Posted April 11, 2011 My experience is very similar to yours. I'll be a month out Wednesday and am only down 13 lbs since surgery. I also expected it to be more but am trying to be happy with the loss. I also had my hiatal hernia repaired. I can really tell a difference in how it makes me feel. I don't have heartburn and I have so much more energy. I lost over 100lbs before on my own but like you I'm thinking this "tool" will help me keep it off instead of regaining it plus more. Good luck to you as you continue on this journey! I'm sure you will lose 100lbs in no time!!! 1 senickisncis reacted to this
TEXAS DIVA 10 Posted April 11, 2011 Congratulations! I think you are doing great. I read success stories of people who lost 25lbs the 1st month and more.. I think we should be grateful for WEIGHT LOSS of any amount the 1st month.. That means you are doing really good. I am two weeks out and I wanted to be down more that what I am but I wont weigh again until my one month anniversary. I think some of us just lose slower than others and thats fine.. Means we stand a better chance of long term weight loss. Keep up the good great work! 1 senickisncis reacted to this

genepha 47 Posted April 11, 2011 Congrats!! You are doing great and I totally agree about keeping the weight off this time. Are you exercising and getting enough Water? I found that those were 2 key factors to help me. Good luck on your journey and congrats again on your weight loss! 1 senickisncis reacted to this
oliviam 3 Posted April 11, 2011 Good for you, weight is weight right? I agree with Genepha, the working out and getting plenty of Water really helped me be consistent in my weight loss. We'll see how it goes now that I am pregnant! 1 senickisncis reacted to this

FatToPhat 83 Posted April 12, 2011 Hey there! It sounds like you are doing GREAT!! AND you're doing better than I am on the weight loss. I have been in a stall for 3 weeks now. I might be just now coming out of it, but not sure, yet. We'll see as the week progresses. I'm SO glad you're doing so well. 1 senickisncis reacted to this
Lmom1980 29 Posted April 15, 2011 Hey, Thanks for the kind replies. I also wanted to add that I am getting in some cardio, and I usually have anywhere from 900-1200 calories a day. I am finding it hard to get my Water in since I don't drink with my meals or for an hour after my meals. I also find it weird that sometimes I feel like I can eat regular portions, and other times I have about three bites and I am stuffed. 1 senickisncis reacted to this
Mamma Litts 2 Posted April 16, 2011 Slow weight loss and stalls... I've always believed that if you lose the weight a little slower, it helps your skin to adjust better and you don't get a flabby. I also believe that stalls happen when the body is saying "hold on here a bit, I need to catch up!". Just remember that all the organs in your body that have been overtaxed by excess weight need some healing and reorganizing time too. And yes I know this may sound like a rationalization, but it's kept me emotionally OK with stalls! 1 senickisncis reacted to this

Weird... 1 senickisncis reacted to this
