sarahh1828 4 Posted April 10, 2011 Ok. So went to my OB yesterday, thought I was having a negative reaction to birth control pills. Dr. now thinks I have PMDD, and wants to start me on an antidepressant. I've never been on one before, but my friend was, and she gained weight like crazy. I'm wondering how they'll be with the sleeve, and if there's one that won't cause me to gain weight? Thanks
MoogleQueen 4 Posted April 20, 2012 It depends on what kind u take. I take Wellbutrin & it can actually help with weight loss.
BlackBerryJuice 349 Posted April 20, 2012 I'm also on Wellbutrin. I haven't really noticed any change in weight or appetite since starting it about a year ago. I was already at my current weight when I started taking it.

NurseJenn 44 Posted August 14, 2012 It depends on the medication. Remind your OB that you're a bariatric patient and that you are concerned about weight gain. Wellbutrin is a popular one for its minimal impact on weight gain... However, it may not be effective for PMDD. Talk with your OB. If you don't like the side effects of the medication ask for something different. You do have a voice in your mental health care.
NurseJenn 44 Posted August 14, 2012 Just for what it's worth... I take Cymbalta. It's great for depression coupled with anxiety. It's also being marketed for fibromyalgia. I've never been diagnosed with that but I have noticed I have more minor aches and pains on the days I miss a dose of my Cymbalta. 1 slimagainsoon reacted to this
