Day 11. Peptic Anarectic

Recommended Posts

Hoo boy am I ever not hungry. I woke up this morning not being hungry, wandered through the morning not being hungry, drank a Vitamin Water containing a Nexium and then started on another one. It occurred to me in the shower that it would be completely easy to go fully lowcarb now because I do not give a stuff about food. And I realized I was much more comfortable with nothing but Water in me anyway. Protein seems to have a set of consequences that make me feel like I've had an operation of some kind.

I can see the brilliant frankengenius in this surgery. The last time I was like this I was fifteen years old and eating a Marlboro Light and a Fresca for Breakfast. I'm on the verge of skipping the thin liquid stage and just powering through the next ten days on Sobe Lifewater and valium.

I guess that depends on whether you want to stay stalled or you want to actually lose weight. ;-P

Your plan, though it has a sort of romance to it, will send your body into survival mode sure as shootin' . You need that Protein, I am sorry to tell you... to protect your muscles and to start your body using the fat deposits for fuel- and I am quite sure you wan that or you would not have had 85% of your stomach removed!

Pssst, by the way, you did have an operation ;-P

Thank you both. You are most excellently right. I never thought about adding Injury to SoBe Water but I'll keep working on it seriously.

It's just so amazing to simply not. want. food.

I am seriously thinking of getting only unflavored Unjury and just adding it to things I like - broth, flavored waters and the likes. Because watery chocolate malt doesn't appeal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
