fullhandsfullheart 1 Posted April 8, 2011 So many threads about carbs..all so confusing. I was going to ask my NUT today, but then my appt got cancelled. So... what is a GOOD number of carbs to stay under everyday. 40? 30? I don't want to do Adkins type and be in ketosis all the time or anything... but I don't lose as fast when I don't watch the carbs, and before being sleeved I was a total carb/sweets/breadproduct addict! So i don't want to go that road again! Advice?
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted April 8, 2011 I would say 30. When I was in the losing phase, I tried to keep mine at 30 . I didn't lose if I went too much above that. Everybody is different though! Now if I went on a long stall, I'd raise them up for a few days then drop them down drastically.
Tarain 2 Posted April 11, 2011 I wasn't told to stay below a certain number of carbs but the common goal for many is either 30 or 40. I personally try to stay below 40 although there are times I go a little above. As for ketosis, from what I learned when I went on MediFast last year, you can have up to 90g of carbs and still remain in a mild state of ketosis. While on MediFast the plan encourages you to eat between 80 - 90g of carbs a day to remain in the "mild state of ketosis".
