Food Food everywhere

Recommended Posts

So hubby and I are having a romantic getaway in the lovely town of Reno....the place where dreams get shattered! my dilemma is there is food everywhere here! Fuzzy (DH) has been eating like an ox and I keep having these feelings like I want to keep up. Time now to hit the Breakfast buffet =( Just a vent, because for the first time since surgery I'm actually missing food =(

Breakfast buffets can be OK. Scrambled eggs, turkey sausages, etc. I stayed the same when I went on hol (and I wasn't entirely a saint), but I did stick to Protein first. I'm sure you're just worried about the unknown but will be OK.

Thank you for the supportive reply. I got home and steped on the scale and couldn't believe my eyes! I actually LOST 3 pounds! I did really good. Eating only Protein and brought some pre mixed shakes. At our "romantic dinner" I only had a few pieces of the antipasti and the seared sea scallops. In the morning at the buffet breakfast, I loaded a plate FULL! I felt horrible because I only ate one bite of each item I chose. I did try to cut small portions off. I always hate wasting food. We always had a rule in my family, "WASTE NOT WANT NOT" but I have to let that go.

Thanks again for your response =)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
