Ok, if a person googles living will templates or samples, a ton of them come up. In order for a living will to be valid, its best to be sure to follow the guidelines set by the state you live in.

Here's where I'm struggling. All the places that say they offer free samples or templates lead you down the path of getting all the way to the point of actually giving something to you but then you have to buy something or sign up for a service - but whatever it is, it really isn't free.

Just looking for any referrals if anyone knows where a person can download some basic templates for living wills. I don't expect any problems going into my surgery, but I just think its best to be prepared regardless.

Thanks for your help!

I did my own a couple of years ago and, if I remember correctly, I had to look at a few sites and put the info together. If you are being sleeved in the states, most (maybe all?) hospitals give you an opportunity to quickly write up a living will prior to surgery... at least in Texas. Good luck!

Thanks, I need a template. If you don't follow the guidelines by the state you live in- it can be null and void- plus it also needs to be notarized which would be pretty difficult if not impossible to do at a hospital.

Thanks though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
