Hello its been a while since I have been on here just checking on my Sept 2010 sleevers to see where everyone is. My weight loss has slowed down a whole lot, I have only lost 51 pounds since then, I was hoping for a little bit more. I am eating and drinking more so I have to watch myself. Any tips on jump starting my loss back? What are you doing to maintain and not regain at this point? Thanks for any help and tips.

Best wishes.

So at 51 pounds, what % have you lost? What did you want to lose? What are you doing/eating/drinking?

Not sure of the % I think I want to at least get down to 180. food is usually good stuff not all the time. :( I am trying to increase my activity some though haven't been very good about that.

% is found by #lost divided by #want to lose times 100.

For example I have lost 75 lbs and want to lose 150lbs so that I 75/150x100= 50%.

So at 4 and1/2 months I have lost 50%.

The stats for loss expectations match percents better than pounds lost.

Hope this helps.

It all still seems to come down to volume consumed. I am one of the unfortunate souls who got hungry immediately. It's tough, but I have just tried to embrace the constant hunger and I make a choice not to give in to it. I am consuming about 750-800 calories a day and have been a consistent loser. I went on vacation in Feb and figure I was eating more like 1000-1100 calories a day and I gained 2 pounds that week. That was a reality check for me. I know where I need to be to lose. Certainly shaking things up with a change in routine helps, but you need to find that place where you will lose.

Do you log everything you eat in Facebook or something like that? That keeps me on top of my Protein and calories and carbs pretty well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
