live2canoe 1 Posted June 27, 2006 Can you tell us what your BMI is? Also, do you have any co-mordities? That would make a difference.
allwoman114 0 Posted June 27, 2006 Thanks for responding my BMI is 36.35. What are co-mordities?
live2canoe 1 Posted June 27, 2006 Co-morbidities are conditions that are weight related that put your health at risk. Some common weight related co-morbidities are diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease. Back and joint problems are considered co-morbidities,too. Most doctors will not perform lap band surgery if your bmi is below 40. There is an exception if your bmi is above 35 and you have two or more co-morbidities. allwoman114 0 Posted June 27, 2006 Oh okay. Yes, I do have co-morbidities, high blood pressure, back pain, and I had bilateral hip replacement 3 years ago due to bad joints. With the new hips Im supposed to weigh between 145 and 160 for them to last more than ten years.
live2canoe 1 Posted June 27, 2006 Then you should qualify for lapband surgery.
