Undergrad reunion coming up...

Recommended Posts

My preferred thing to do in situations like this, is to be kind and cordial. Smile, be friendly but reserved, remember that you have a secret that he doesn't know. The most overt thing I'd do is to say something in the language he used, just a little something -- nothing to do with fat or cows, just so he knows you know the language. He might remember and be embarrassed for what he said, he might not. But either way, you've taken the high road and possibly gotten your message out without malice or returning name-calling back at him. It's just a personal preference though.

(FWIW, I think letting it go and forgiving him is all about you and nothing to do with him, it's to free you up to sleep well and let go of a painful past experience. So think about just forgiving and forgetting.)

I'm sorry he treated you like that; of course you didn't deserve it. {{{Hugs}}}

To top it off, just Googled him and the results confirmed my long-standing theory that douchebags get the farthest in life! On the upside, he works in Britain now, so maybe he won't be there to bless me with his presence.

Hey BlackBerryJuice...

I agree with Jayne... let me know where he is in the UK, I'll have a word on your behave especailly as I am over the weight you were when he said it... Ihave a fair bit of 'rage' that needs an avenue for release...!! =]

Oh I'd go walk up to him looking as hot as you do now and maybe ask his date/wife what in the world is she doing with this pig ;)

I feel for ya. Whenever I think back to college or high school I get very mad at myself for being such a complacent doormat. I wasn't very overweight back then and I let people tear me apart. I regret most of my time in high school. Can't really think back to it without cringing. :angry:

Just an update, as I had my reunion earlier this month - the doucherino was not there. Also, I was the ONLY person who isn't in worse shape than they were back in college. Some people have packed on so much weight, I didn't even recognize them. I feel fortunate to have had the surgery.

Yay! That must have felt good, and then you feel sorry for the others....

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
