Tammy K 0 Posted April 7, 2011 Anyone have any advice on how to start firming up arms, legs, and stomach. I am down 57 pounds and my arms and legs are getting super saggy. I did have sagginess before but its getting worse. I am going to the gym 3-5 days a week but I am only doing treadmill, bike, and nu-step which mostly focuses on the legs but what can I do to tone some of this up a bit. Not asking for a miracle to happen but just help firm it up a bit. Is there some type of exercise that anyone has experienced that actually works and also how long do I need to do this exercise, would it be 5 minutes or 10 minutes and how often. Thanks everyone in advance for your answers
nieshmoore1978 1 Posted April 7, 2011 Try using the weight machines in the gym , start out lifting about 5-10 pounds (not too heavy I would say 20 max) , three times a week do three reps of 15 for each exercise. If that's too tough lift less weight!! Increace your weight every few weeks, you should see a difference in about 30days. This will help you tone, without bulking up!!! I work out at 24hour fitness, and the trainers are good about answering questions. I paid for three personal training sessions and it was money well spent, you tell them your goals and they will tell you the best way to acheive them. I hope this helps 1 Tammy K reacted to this

Tiffykins 673 Posted April 7, 2011 Isolated light weight lifting really helps increase muscle tone. The skin takes time to rebound and reabsorb, but you can build muscle to fill up the loose, saggy skin. My favorite for legs is a using a weighted ball (4 and 8lb balls) held in between my ankles, lay on the floor and do leg lifts on my back and then on my side. For triceps, skull crushers work really great to tone up the batwing area. Bicep curls for biceps. If you go to the gym, they usually have floor managers/staff that can assist you with the machines. I did 3-4 days of lifting and focusing a specific body area on each day.
Day Dreamer 23 Posted April 7, 2011 Anyone have any advice on how to start firming up arms, legs, and stomach. Hi Tammy, Congrats on your weight loss!!! Great job. My question is: are you wearing any compression garmets? I have read that wearing them post op will help to bring that skin in and keep it from stretching more Someone posted that they wrap their arms with Ace bandage while exercising because sagging skin wobbled and pulls the skin down more. I am also hoping that my pregnancy go-to, Cocoa Butter, will work post op like it did with my 2 kids (Although I haven't heard many mentions of people using it....) Hmm Good luck and keep up the great work!!
samantha209 19 Posted April 7, 2011 I definitely will be looking into the compression garments, and i think weights are the way to go. Cardio helps u burn fat but isnt great at building muscle. Good luck
MollyMc 0 Posted April 7, 2011 I have a Wii and have the EA sports active which comes with resistence bands. You can choose upper body or lower body work outs that are low impact and really helpful.
