Hi All, I am having a bit of a pity party here. The sag-age is really getting to me. I expected the bat wings and they don't bother me nor does the loose belly and back flab but the flab on my thighs is a whole another matter when I walk it flaps and waves from side to side. I thought that my butt and legs would not change they were toned with good muscle definition before surgery I did not realize that there was so much fat and now it looks like I am wearing a skin coat two sizes to be every thing is wrinkled my forearms my thighs, my butt and when I twist side to side everything from my neck down wrinkles up. My skin looks all crepe like a 90+ old lady. Then there are my clothes I was trying on some of my favorites that had been tight 60 lbs ago make me look like a 12 year trying her mom's clothes. I started making a pile of the ones I'd want to try and have altered and just got so overwhelmed even clothes like summer tees and shorts that I thought I could get away with are not going to fly. Good lord even my underwear barely holds on to my hips. I should be happy but I am not not sure why.

So sorry to hear you are sad LUNAROSE. You should be celebrating your amazing weight loss but you are seeing the side affects of tremendous weight loss. Will you skin snap back to look like a supple teenager? Probably not. We will continue to bear the scars of our weight even though weight is gone.

Tiffikins posts about how her husband overlooks her saggy stomach, thighs, etc and still finds her hugely attractive. My DH loves me now in my new body too and is not repulsed by looks of "aged" skin.

Be happy my friend, most of us do not walk around naked 100% of the time, so put on some clothes and go flaunt that great new shape. Hugs.

Lunarose, I am hearing you loud and clear. But I have to agree with iegal... you have done sooooo wellto lose 62lb and you are only 11lb away from goal. That is an amazing achievement; something that you should be proud of.

The skin might just need a little time to come back a little... try to hang in there. Remember, tomorrow is another day... hugs =]

Thanks Sleeve sisters I think it is in part having to get rid of so many of my favorite clothes and realizing it all at once. And I am having a problem wrapping my brain around the fact that weighing in the low 140s now is a whole lot different then it was 20 years ago.

Sorry it sucks. Don't bother with tailoring. FK it, just get rid of everything that doesn't fit, buy more, esp underwear-no droppy drawers! Buy pants that have a bit of elastic in them, to kinda hold ya together, jeans always feel good on.

Size 8 is too small size 10 too big that's my other problem figuring out what size I am. Bras are the worst my poor little girls seem to fall and puddle up in the bottom of the cup yikes (BG)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
