I had my sleeve done on 3/21 so I am a little over 2 weeks out, well I was in a hurry to get to class and instead of stopping for some Soup for dinner, I got 2 grilled chicken strips from Jack in The Box.

OMG I feel like I could just throw up! I'm stuck in class until at least 8 too :(

I am NEVER trying that again, I thought I'd be okay because I've been eating canned chicken breast and I chewed it up really really well but I guess it wasn't good enough!

Its weird how somethings go down ok and others just sit like a lump even if they are the same kind of Protein just cooked differently.

Hope you are feeling better before the end of your class.

It's not a mess up, it's a learning experience!

Hope you're feeling better.

Forgive yourself and move on!! Be sure to follow your doctors plan and always have some type of food or snack with you. It really helps. Funny thing is I have never carried so much food around in my life!! I have my little purple lunch box with 2 ice packs :D

Remember ...it's about the journey and one tiny slip up isn't going to keep you from reaching your goal!

Bummer Sara Ann. I tried mashed potatoes to soon and felt like poo-poo, doo-doo, cock-a!! We live and learn, sister! Hope it passes fast.

I am feeling better now, I went and threw it up and now I feel better. I am probably still going to leave class at break tonight, but at least I am feeling better.

It is a learning experience, I will keep healthy approved Snacks with me at all times. Most foods that I've tried have been okay, but not the chicken tonight.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
