Hey everyone!

I loved this site as I have been preparing for my surgery... But due to the recent ads, I am going to have to stop coming regularly.. The ads are too much!!! It's taking so long to load these pages that it isn't worth it anymore. And I can't find a way to nix the ads...

I will return periodically as needs arise, but not often... I wish you all success on your journeys!! :)

Are you using high speed internet, and do you have a pop up blocker enabled??? because I have no such problem at home or work? Try running a scan on your computer

I have to agree with Sam. I do not get a slow load at work or home. You may need to defrag your computer. I have noticed that some of the ads do not load at all. I wish they were not there all together, because i hate seeing them, but I understand the site needs some sort of income to allow us to use it for free. So I gladly deal with the ads.... Such is life.

Good luck :)

I use my iPad and it loads as if for a phone, no ads!

Wow, it's worth getting an ipad just so I don't have to look at the ads.

I don't have pop ups and the board loads very fast , but even if the ads

are only on the right side of the board, I don't want to look at them.

Exactly what they said, if I use my phone or google chrome, I barely even see the ads and I have no problems with speed.

Ugh... I came back to check to see if this ad issue had resolved.. Nope.. I can understand small ads but these are just overdoing it!!!! I can use the app on my Xoom (Motorola version of the iPad) but it doesn't load the threads that I have subscribed to, which I don't like.. Maybe I will just stick to the app.. It took 6 minutes just to respond to this thread.. and I do have high speed internet... Ridiculous!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
