I am getting VSG April the 30th. My BMI is around 33 now. I have realtively good skin tone but what can I expect from a 50 -70 # weight loss and what do I do to have the best skin and body shape, what have you all done? (I have gained 10#s a year for the last 6-8 years.) Thanks for the insight. Jeanette

there are way too many factors for anyone to be able to give you a reasonable expectation including your age and how much you exercise as you lose weight.

That being said it probably won't be that bad for 50lbs.

Unfortunately, there really isn't anway to tell.

I lost over 70 pounds. The doctors I talked to said that due to my age and weight, I should not have much lose skin. Well, they were right in most areas. BUT, I have quite a bit of loose skin on my upper thighs & my stomach is a mess. Luckily, I can hide them under clothes and you can't tell. I am investigating a Tummy Tuck, but need to save funds.

Good luck on your journey.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
