Greetings, newbie to the forum

Hello all. I am a 10 month (June 9, 2010) post-op sleever living in Southern California. My start weight was 299.7, currently I am 4 lbs below my Dr's goal of 200 at 196. Feeling great and can't imagine living the old life complete with diabetes and high blood pressure. I stumbled on this site researching medic alert bracelets for VSG patients.

Hello Kurt;

Welcome to an "old" pro. Congrats on amazing success with your sleeve! We have a SoCal support group who meets every few months - next one is May 7 in Riverside if you are interested send me a PM so I can give you details.

Do I need a medical alert braclet? If yes, where did you get one?

Thanks, I have yet to attend a support group. I work a really messed up schedule and can finally make my first one from my surgeon in Orange a week from Tuesday. I'll hit you up for the info on the Riverside meeting.

      Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

      The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

        Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
