i can't believe i'm writing this, but i must say the gerber ham with gravy mixed with the great value 4 cheese potatoes were pretty much amazing...i feel like i just ate thanksgiving dinner...this is the first meal i've actually felt satisfied with since surgery...i may have ate a tbsp too much though...probably could have done without that. The other thing i need to rave about that is helping me sooo much is the sugar free candies...i bought the lifesaver wild cherry hard candy sugar free....yep it's amazing..i also had gotten the sugar free jolly ranchers...again...yum yum yum.

I did get out and go grocery shopping..and got my exercise in...i also cleaned my office so i don't feel so useless...i've just been going stir crazy..i'm one that is used to cleaning up all day after my 4 kids..sitting around is not my ball of wax...but i've hit my limit today..i'm officially sore =( little by little day by day. I"m so glad i have this forum....i have to admit..i feel really alone in this..but i know it will get better.

I am surprised that you are already on food-even baby food. My husband was sleeved on Wednesday and he has 7 days liquid before starting a puree stage. My doctor (we had surgery with 2 different officces and hospitals due to insurance requirements) had me on a 14 day liquid diet before the puree stage. I had looked at baby food but I did not feel that it had enough Protein for me to get my daily allowance. Besides I thought it was expensive when I could buy real food and just blend it myself to the right consistency. Good luck and welcom to the forum. You will find a lot of helpful information and a great support group.

the day following my surgery they started my on puree and i have to continue on puree for 4-5 weeks post surgery. They recommended baby food and milk for Protein as well as shakes. I was surprised that i got 9 grams of protein from just that little jar. I decided to try it today since i tried puree meats myself at home and cannot get the right consistency...i have 2 food processors and a blender but apparently i am a puree idiot =) Thanks for the lovely welcome, i'm loving this forum so far!! it is really a life change...today i've been really moody...for some reason i just want a darn cupcake with buttercream frosting..i never crave that...why i'm craving it today i have no idea...i've been a witch for the better part of the day and i'm ready to get back to my happy old self...=)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
