Ok, I feel a little silly not being able to figure this out on my own, but I started on mushie foods this week (week 3) and everytime I eat, I can't tell that I'm full until I'm kinda stuffed. Not stuffed to the point of feeling ill, just kinda uncomfortable for a few minutes. I'd really like to avoid that "too full" feeling, but I can't seem to be able to tell when I'm at the front of full and not at the end! Any ideas or signals that I may be missing? I'm taking very small bites, chewing reallly well, taking about 20-30 min to eat, and am enjoying every bite, I just can't tell when enough is!! Thanks so much!

I also can't tell till its too late, so I measure EVERYTHING. I have little dishes that are 2 oz, 3 oz, and 4 oz. If I use the 4oz container, I fill it halfway with food and that's all I get. I know 2 oz will fill me up, but not too much. I still can't eat without my measuring dishes because I lose track of how much I had and I am not yet good at eyeballing a 2oz portion on my own. I am hoping that it will get easier after a few more weeks, but that is my reality right now.

I find that the over-full feeling also leaves me quite emotional and depressed so I try to avoid it at all costs.

I bought the 4oz Glad (store bought tupperware) storage containers with lids. I take 2 or 3 of them (filled halfway) to work and I have pre-portioned meals all day.

In the beginning you have to measure that is pretty much the only way, not to mention you don't really want to feel full... You shouldn't really be hungry so it's something you have to train your mind on after years of eating whatever whenever and getting stuffed it took a while for me to figure it out.

I eat to live now but don't live to eat so i'll take in my portion of Protein and then maybe a few bites of something else.

Eating slow is also important because with the sleeve you can go from feeling fine to being in pain or getting sick in one mouthful of food. I have actually spit out mouthfuls of food mid chew because I got that feeling and new the next bite would make me sick.

Yes, what the previous poster's said - you have to KNOW your limits. For me the feeling is so subtle that I can easily take a bite or two more then the pain and nausea hit. Thankfully I've only experienced this maybe 4 or 5 times and out of that only once that was really, really bad and I almost barfed.

I too get a feeling as If I have to burp, but can't and know that I should stop then and there! Another thing I've done is count my bites up until I get that type of feeling and whether or not my food is exactly measured .......I still know when I've had enough for my stomach. This can come in handy (the # of bites) when eating away from home. :-)

I get a feeling in chest just below the sternum. It is almost like the sleeve has filled to the top and the food is sitting at the entrance and one more bite after that feeling of pressure hits and it will be a world of uncomfortable and most likely vomiting.

Real easy stuff, this is a trial and error system. Because it take a little time for the brain to know when it had enough stuff in your new stomach - please try this.

At you first meal, eat about 2 to 3 ounces, wait a bit and see how you feel, at the next meal try a bit more, like 4 to 5 ounces, again wait awhile and sense how you feel.

Repeat until you are comfortable, NOT stuffy full. This is only sure way, feeling full is individualistic thing, what works for other folks may not be your cup of tea.

Remember the two keys to this is measurements and time (remember like in high school science class).

I had the SAME problem in the beginning. I would get full feeling and gas pains mixed up. Until I was further out and the gas while eating went away it was easier. I am 12 weeks out and know I can not eat more that a half cup of food at once. It does get easier. Funny thing is that it took about 10 weeks for the hunger pangs to go away.;)

That's exactly what I feel too! Like the food is "stacking up" at the bottom of my esophagus. Is that normal? I too have a hard

time distinguishing the feeling of being "full" in my stomach...unless the :stacked up" feeling I'm getting is indeed that.But I don't think it is.

Not easy gettign to know this new tummy! Hope it gets easier!

Thank y'all for all the great advice! I think I've figured out the problem! In really mushie foods (yogurt, cottage cheese, etc) I can eat a full 1/2 cup and be comfortably full! When its Proteins or any veggies mixed in...it is only about 1/4 cup and I'm done! Whew! Lash, I did as you suggested and ate much less and that's how I figured it out! I'm so grateful to have such a supportive community that I can turn to when I have questions! Thanks again!

I'm so glad you posted this Disney!! I started the pureed stage and can do 3-4 ozs. before I start to "get that feeling". I always wondered if I was overdoing it, by reading these posts I think I'm on par with everyone. Not a "silly" question at all!!!

In my case, I know when I'm over-full whenever I get a allergic sneeze. Something happens when the sleeve is full up that places pressure on my sinus then I get an uncontrollable sneeze reaction. Weird!

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...
