Silly question but gotta ask

Recommended Posts

I see the weight tracker at the bottom and was wondering how do I do that? I would like to show off my 18 pound pre-op loss so far lol

I am flying on Delta and was wondering if drinks are allowed outside of the ones they give you? I was thinking more for when I head back home.

I know the basics people took with them but is there anything that you took that most don't think about but was glad you had it?

For those that had surgery in Mexico, did you use cash or credit if you shopped there? I don't know if I should take $100 cash, less, more, or just my cards. I mean I am going for surgery not a vacation but hear you sometimes go out shopping before or after surgery and also, not sure about how much or if the driver is tipped that takes me in Mexico.

Any replies at all would be helpful!

They are weightloss tickers you will need to go to a site to make one up and then copy the URL that they provide at the end to paste into your signature. Check out the different tickers everyone has they will have the name of the site usually somewhere on or around the ticker. Mine is by lilyslim.

I think with any airline you can take drinks on that you have purchased after you go through security. Anything before and you will have to chuck it. There are shops in the waiting areas at the boarding gates that sell Water, juice, pop etc.

I was glad for slip on shoes (no bending). Other than that something to keep the boredom away would have been nice. I did not have a computer and totally forgot that I had my ipod. So I spent my time in my room watching tv (sometimes in spanish even though I did not understand).

I brought a little bit of cash and used that. I personally do not like to use my credit cards unless I really have to. 100$ was plenty for me but then I did not go shopping. I did however buy nexium mups there. I tipped the driver also. I guess it boils down to what you prefer to carry cash or credit cards.

Hope this information helps you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
