susnl 17 Posted March 31, 2011 Hi All. I just found out that I will have to travel across the country (Florida to California) for work right after my surgery. I will be traveling out on my 14th day post-op and will be out there for 5 days. I really don't want to have to postpone my surgery. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions? vol1cathy 1 Posted March 31, 2011 I was fine traveling 3 weeks after my surgery. You need to really plan how you will handle your foods. Will you have a fridge and a microwave in your room? Also rest when you can, you will get tired a more quickly.
MelissaAnd 3 Posted March 31, 2011 I agree with vol1cathy. Find out if you can have a refridgerator and microwave in your room. Also, locate shopping areas around where you will be staying. It might also be smart to take some small containers with lids to keep things in the refridgerator. 2 weeks after surgery I felt pretty decent. Just remember that you will tire easier and will need a little more rest. Your body will still be going through some major healing. Good luck with your trip! I am sure it will all be fine. Just plan for it ahead of time.
