I pushed "post" too quickly!! Sorry!! At Bariatric Advantage I am on the auto ship plan....they send it automatically however often I specify, and therefore I get free shipping. There are 60 chews in each bag, and I take 4 per day. (1000 mg total) I have them send 2 bags at 9.99 monthly. So it costs me $20 per month.

calcium citrate chewables are so expensive! I could spend $15 every two weeks to get in enough. I just don't like taking the non chewable horse pills, and have even tried the minis, yuck. They sit in my stomach like a clutch of rocks....I am now using Bariatric Advantage chewable tabs, they come in wild cherry, mint, cinnamon and chocolate. I am getting them in the large bottle, its a much better deal. Each tab is 500 mgs and I don't mind the taste, however they are very powdery and I would say exhale while eating or the dust gets in your lungs! I use cherry. Getting in 1000 a day adds up to about $12 a month. I think there are about 270 tabs in a bottle if I remember correctly....

I found a chewable fruity Calcium supplement at Target that also has Vitamin D. It is Target's brand and it cost approximately $7.50. I like the taste and the price. I take one twice a day.

if you are on a ppi, you have very little acid in the stomach, most calciums need acid to be absorbed... except citrate.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
