Okay I'm getting worried that I might not loss anymore weight. I'm currently 6 weeks out and I intake about 800 calories per day and I get all of my Protein in (like 70-90) and I get all of my Water in (80-120 ozs) and I work out every other day burning 700-800 calories on the treadmill. My question is will this 10 day plataue ever end. I'm scared I've might have messed up by getting this surgery and it don't work for me. I've only lost 20 pds since 2/15 and 15 pds on a 14 day pre-op diet. Here is my eating schedule:

B: Protein shake

S: Low Fat Cottage cheese

L: 2-3 oz tuna with 1 oz lowfat string cheese

S: Protein Shake

D: 2 oz Salmon, with 1 oz broccoli

S: (2) SF popsicles before bed.

Help any one!

Yes - you will lose more weight. The big first stall has got hold of you ... but continue what you are doing & it will come off. We've all been there, had the frustration, and TOTALLY understand your frustration. It will start moving again!!!

Girl, I too am super worried. I am only 3 weeks post op and I have not lost, but gained 2 lbs in the past week and a half after loosing 27lbs in the first 2 weeks. In that time I was still partically on full liquids and then just moved on to mushies. I don't know what to do to get it all jump started, but it's getting super frustrating. If you get any good ideas please pass them along! I was hoping that getting this surgery would take some of that mental frustration of not seeing the scale move away, but it's not at the moment :( I guess I'll just keep chugging along. Eventually something has to change, right?! Hang in there.

I know this is just crazy how we are not losing like we should. I see so many people that lose like 50 pds in 2 months, I've done good to lose 20 in 6 weeks. I just hope it gets better soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
