Used2b575lbs 29 Posted March 29, 2011 It all depends there is no such thing as typical, I can say I started at about your weight I was 375 lbs day of surgery and now i'm 8.5 months out and last time on the scale I was 261 lbs. I lost 100 lbs relatively quickly within the first 6 months and i've slowed since then but I have also been my own worst enemy by introducing carbs and junk back into my diet. I went 7 weeks with a 2.5 lb gain total after the 6 month mark but then I corrected myself and stopped my bad habits and am doing better now. Hope this helps but the most important thing to remember is everyone is different and everyone loses at a different rate.

There probably isn’t any 'typical' loss to expect. There are published averages of around 60% of your excess weight in the first year but there is a lot of variance as you will see on this board. Just as another data point, I have lost 124 lb since my operation on 11/22/2010 (I was at 497 the day of). Good luck with your journey.
