CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I am 11 weeks out and bought my first whole outfit in the "Regular" size department this weekend. I kept finding myself moving towards the plus sized clothes out of habit. I am so excited for all of us. I went to look for a 16 and had to realize that was not considered a plus size! lol I am down from a size 24 to a 16!

Wow that is so great! What does a typical day look like for you as far as eating? Do you mix it up and do you exericise? I also did the same thing as far as going to plus size area, lol!

Your news is SOOOOO encouraging! I am 4 weeks out today and only down 35lbs (15 of which was during my 2 week pre-op). Was your weight loss slow at first?

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCCESS!

Well mine includes my pre-op too and my weight loss seems to be slow to me also, but hopefully the weight just keeps coming off and I meet my long term goal. I have never been a person who keeps jumping on the scale but from 6-8 weeks only lost like 4 lbs, but we just have to keep on keeping on! Thanks

I am 7 weeks post op tomorrow ..... I have lost 29 lbs so far post op (no pre-op diet). I lost 20 lbs the first month .... and these last 3 weeks have seemed to be BRUTAL ... very slow weight loss of 2 -3 lbs a week and MINIMUM food intake .... but as my husband keeps telling me at least I am losing .....

Weird thing is I am still in the SAME SIZE CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!!! Where is the weight loss going / coming from??!?!?!?!?! ANd NO ONE HAS NOTICED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am really disapointed with my loss... 11 weeks and have only lost 28 pounds.... 2-3 pounds a week... very frustrating when you read others that have the big number weight loss. My husgand keeps encouraging me as well that if I stay on 2-3 pounds a week by October I will be 100 pounds loss... that is great so I made it my new target! Possibly if you think long term goal it will help you as well..... hang in there!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
