Hello and welcome to the losers' bench!

I don't know exactly why you feel so good but I think it's a great way to start your journey!

It may depend on your age, as you said. I remember that when I was between 19 and 25 I never slept, always out partying and clubbing and being stupid and even managed to get my degree on time. Now I need 2 friggin days to recover from a night out clubbing and drinking (I mean, until 2 months ago before I got sleeved, no way I am going out drinking right now!) and I am only 30!

Anyway, enjoy your weight loss and I wish you to keep feeling this good!

I don't think it's much to do with age, "strength" or pre-surgery weight per se -- it has seemed fairly random to me. Some people just have an easier time of it than others. I am over 40, had 100 lbs to lose, and have had an absolute breeze of it -- never had a problem drinking or eating (my program moves to all regular food from four days post-op). Just be glad you're one of the lucky ones so far!

I am 42, sleeved on 3/1/11, and have felt great since day two, I asked to have the morphine drip taken away on day 2 in the hospital. I will say day one SUCKED big time! I have been able to drink Water normally, I am taking all my Vitamins, and I seem to stomach everything well so far, although Im still on mushies. I do worry because it seems as thought I can eat a lot compared to others at the mushy stage. last night I had to two eggs scrambled, with FF cheese, and Salsa, I was full but it went down pretty easy.

I posted at just a few days out and stated how great I felt, I forgot who posted back and said they believe feeling better has a lot to do with a positive mental attitude, and I agree.

Hi, I am 2 days out and feeling pretty good. My plan has me on Clear Liquids thru day 7, can then add skim mild and Protein Drinks. Must drink 1.5 cups of gatorade a day. There is an added not that if you feel lethargic to start Protein drinks early. I am vey positive about the surgery - got to see the tiny tummy when I had my barium swallow today. (That stuff is nasty bitter). I fly home tomorrow and am not expecting any problems. Jean

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
