I hate to say this but every time I see someone on these boards who is having problems and not feeling well, it seems their doctor or nut already has them on full or mushies too early in the process. I know there are a lot of people who started full liquids or mushies with no problem too, but you know everyone is different.

My doctor specifically said to only have clears for the first 10 days because up to 2 weeks is the risk for a leak along the staple line....

Tiff always give good advice and obvioulsly with where she is in her weight loss/maintaining...she is doing the right thing..

I would personally suggest to stay away from canned, purreed, salty foods this early out and stick to broth. I used powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup and I really found it gentle and easy on the stomach.

Good Luck, it will get better.

Hi.

No your tummy tell's you when it has had enough, just like it used to, but if you push another bite you may or may not upchuck. I found that as time went on I naturally knew when to stop. It also depends a lot on what you just ate. Everyone seems different.

I haven't done it in a long time just in the early days it happened only twice.

For me it initially was just me getting used to my new stomach My brain didn't catch up to my new stomach. Old habits die hard I guess.

Please don't get frightened. I have no regrets to this day.

My best,

Will

If you do have to be sick from eating too much, is it the same as being sick because you are actually sick? Do you go through the sweats, shakes

and all that working up to actually being sick?

I was told dumping controls Gastric bypass folks. This would definitely control me! I hate throwing up and would probably become a hermit if it ever

happened to me publicly. I've swallowed my pride and lived with be the fat one in the room. I will not be the one who pukes.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
