If they're delicious, that's not a good sign... lol

Read the ingrediants - what's a serving size, how many calories, how much fat? Are you eating just a serving, or the whole bag?

Anything is fair game, just be conscious of what and how much you're eating. If you turn this into a "snacky" item that you munch on unconsciously you could be adding a lot of unwanted calories. But I've never tried them, so can't even guess on that front.

I've never eaten them, but that's because I'm afraid of the Olean they use to fry them in. It kinda scares me, chips go right through my band, so I'd eat a whole bag, and I don't relish the thought of anal leakage.

If you can eat them in moderation, and you don't get the side effects of the Olean, I don't see what could be wrong with you snacking on them every once in a while. Just remember, even though they're very low fat, they still have calories and calories are what count the most in the end.

Thanks for the reply, as far as the olean it does not effect me due to the fact I only have a serving size (maybe 10 chips) that's enough for me just for a taste,, I am trying to see what is best for me when I am in the need for a snack. I think they taste great(My Daughter says they taste like cardboard). With this said I was feeling guilty eating them because they were so good.

No one says we can't still eat things that taste good! In fact, now that I'm banded, I like my foods as flavorful as possible, since I eat so little of it. If you feel that they may influence your weight loss though, pop on over to www.fitday.com and track your caloric intake for a few days. If you don't know about fitday, it's a free online food journal that gives breakdowns of your total calories, fat, Protein, carbs, Vitamins, etc. It's a great site!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
