mandems mom 3 Posted March 24, 2011 I've heard from some patients that had 5 incisions and then read posts from others that only had 3. These are all laparascopic surgeries, so what's the reason for the difference?
Amber 4 Posted March 24, 2011 This is just a guess. Every surgery is different so they are going to do the safest and most comfortable way they are used to. Also, I think the smaller you are in the stomach the easier it is too move around and operate with less incisions.

vickie 3 Posted March 24, 2011 I had 4 plus my drain incision. I often wondered the same thing though good question.
gotamakeachange 7 Posted March 24, 2011 I have three that I am able to see and one in my belly button that I can not see.
Shanny 70 Posted March 24, 2011 I only have 1 incision (and I had no drain). It's 2 inches long, and goes right along the top of my navel. It's blends into the fold of my navel and my stretch marks hide it well. I'm so glad my doc did it that way. He's awesome! I thought they were all done with 1 incision. I just learned something new! Nikki_D 28 Posted March 24, 2011 I have 3. It all depends on technique. Some can be done right through the belly button with no visible scars. Others are done with one to as many as eight incisions.
