kelli 3 Posted March 24, 2011 What a ****... I'm sorry you had to sit there and listen to that. Is this woman overweight herself? I haven't really come across anything negative other than jealousy. If someone said that to me I'd probably shrug and tell them "welcome to 2011, weight loss surgery is a very viable option. Sorry you are such an old fart." I'm gonna remember that one..lol
ILKrista 36 Posted March 24, 2011 I just wonder if your grandmother would have the same reaction to someone having lung cancer removed? After all, it's not fair to all the people who did the 'right thing' and never smoked. Or what about someone having a bypass... aren't they cheating because it's their fault for eating fatty food? This irks me because I've had people tell me that I'm taking the easy way out and should just try harder.
Shanny 70 Posted March 24, 2011 Here's one for ya. Now, I didn't tell my boss that I had weight loss surgery. She just knows that I had an ulcer removed and that as a result I'm having a hard time digesting food and I'm on a special diet. She's an old woman and usually makes these back handed comments to me. Today, she says, "You're losing weight, did you notice that?" I said, yes. As if I didn't. "Are you happy about it?" I said yes. Then she says, "Are you going to keep it up?" I told her I hope so. In fact, I take 20 minutes of my lunch and go to the weight room and work out. She says, "Good. I'm glad you're making a change, because you needed to do something." I was floored. What right does she have to tell me that I needed to do anything?!?!? My weight has NEVER interfered with my job. I'm damn good at it. Don't insult me to try to give me a compliment. This is exactly why I didn't tell her or hardly anyone I was having surgery. She would have a field day!
