Full fluid diet...cream soup

Recommended Posts

How much cream Soup (tomato, cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, etc...) should we eat at one sitting in the full Fluid stage. It seems as though I can consume quite a bit and I'm worried that it may be too much. Any idea?

I think because it is a liquid you will not feel the restriction unless you take it too much at one time. I am on mushies and have the same problem. I will find out what kind of restriction I have when I move onto solids.

Thanks Lily (love your name). Do you know if there is a certain amount we should be consuming at meal time? Do we just eat until we're satisfied? Just don't want to sabotage my weight loss, if you know what I mean.

I just look at the amount of carbs and calories the "soup" is going to provide. As I do not want to go over my daily carbs. That being said I was eating half a can of cream Soup to know that I was getting enough but not too much. I have started making my own Soups (curry califlower is my favourite) and I have been eating about 4 - 8 oz of it. If I eat chili which is a bit more dense I can eat between 2-4 oz (I do not want to feel over stuffed so I take it easy). Hope this helps my best answer is go with a serving size that you feel comfortable eating (carb wise).

Thanks Cheri :D

I am 13 days out and can get between 1/4 and 1/2 cup down and feel stuffed. My Dr. wants me on Full liquids till day 20.sad.gif But honestly, I don't think I could get much more down (thickness wise) anyway. It's just a slow go for me.

I can probably eat 1 - 1 1/2 cups. That worries me!! I fight head hunger all the time with all the commercials and seeing others eating. I guess I'm not one of the lucky one's who has lost their hunger. That makes me real sad. :(

r u sure it's not cravings instead of hunger? I see a commercial and want to run to the fridge, then I stop and say.. wait I am not hungry.. just a stupid doritos craving because of the commercial, lol

I crave everything all the time!! That was my problem before surgery as well. I LOVE food...I used to joke and say, "I'll eat anything that doesn't eat me first!" I'm NEVER satisfied. If I could burn my tastes buds off, I would!! This is so depressing to realize that I'm always going to feel this way!

Someone PLEASE tell me I can eat so much right now because I'm on full liquids and they're just running through my sleeve instead of hanging around to tell me I'm full!!!

I am right there with you Can'tweight, I can easily have a can of Soup and then want more an hour later. I am very worried that I am going to be that 1 in a million failures. I am only 17 days out and starving. All Soups make me want to gag now. I took 2 bites of lowfat cottage cheese and thought I was in heaven. I am just want some food I can chew!!!!!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
