I had my surgery on the 14th of March. The day after surgery I was so nauseous i could barely stand to be awake. I was throwing up blood as well as saliva. They gave me ice cubes and I through those up as well. I could hold nothing down if felt as though i was experiencing an awful hangover. So the dr. determined to put me back under and perform a endoscopic procedure to see if there was actual blockage. After this treatment i felt much better. I was then able to suck on ice chips which then progressed to tiny sips of Water which caused a lot of pressure on my stomach which is why i sipped. After two days in the hospital I then went home. I have continued to walk and have not experiened any real pain. I have taken no pain medicine since leaving the hospital, no need for it. The gas is just unbearable after a meal. I feel deprived I have noticed smells I never use to notice before the surgery for instance while in the airport i couldn't help but notice the fries and oh how I longed to taste just one. I'm not hungry just have cravings for things. Anybody else experience this? I just finished planting flowers and a tree in the yard so i'm doing well. I've also managed to lose 11 lbs since surgery... I can't help but check my weight every morning.

Well I am sorry you had such a bad surgery experience, but you are better now and that is all that matters.. YOu will love your sleeve when you heal. It is such a blessing to me since I don't really think I could have lost very much on my own.. It always came back...I love my sleeve so much...

So glad you are feeling better. The smell thing gets better with time.I found it took me a good 5-6 weeks to really start figuring out the sleeve and eating habits... just stick with what the doc said, and things will get easier.
